1990-luvun huippusuositussa Baywatch-sarjassa seurattiin kalifornialaisten hengenpelastajien seikkailuja. Pamela Andersonin ja David Hasselhoffin tähdittämän sarjan pohjalta ollaan nyt työstmässä elokuvaa, jonka pääroolissa nähdään Dwayne Johnson.

Nyt Dwayne Johnson on paljastanut Instagramissa, että Alexandra Daddario on kiinnitetty mukaan Baywatch-elokuvaan. Parhaiten True Detective -sarjan ensimmäiseltä kaudelta tunnettu tähti tulee näyttelemään elokuvassa Summer Quinnia. Alkuperäisessä sarjassa hahmoa esitti Nicole Eggert.

Elokuvassa tullaan näkemään myös High School Musical ja Neighbors -elokuvista tunnettu Zac Efron. Dwayne Johnson vihjaili Instagramissa, että alun perin Pamela Andersonin esittämän CJ:n näyttelijä tullaan paljastamaan pian. Rooliin on huhuttu muun muassa Kelly Brookia, Kate Uptonia, Ashley Bensonia ja Nina Dobrevia.
