Palokunta riensi pelastamaan vauvaa – löysivätkin vain nuken

Ohhoh! · Tim Isokivi

Lämpökuvauksesta on korvaamatonta hyötyä pelastushenkilöille, sillä ne voivat paljastaa apua tarvitsevat esimerkiksi palavista rakennuksista. Nyt lämpökameran käyttö on kuitenkin johtanut yllättävään tilanteeseen.

Palavaa rakennusta sammuttamassa ollut Oklahoman palokunta päätti lämpökameran avulla selvittää, oliko kukaan ansassa talossa. Kameran kuvassa näkyi vauvaa muistuttava hahmo.

Palokunta riensi nopeasti huoneeseen, jossa vauva näkyi. Apua tarvinnut paljastui kuitenkin nopeasti pelkäksi vauvanukeksi.

– Palokunnan työ on haastavaa. On hienoa, että voimme välillä jakaa jotain hilpeämpää. Tämä tapaus sai hetkeksi pulssimme kiihtymään, palokunnan Facebook-sivulla kirjoitettiin.

Not Always What It Seems

Things are not always as they seem! In this case…THANK GOODNESS! Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 1200 block of SW Binkley this morning just after 7 a.m. Dispatchers told responding firefighters that someone may still be inside. Arriving firefighters immediately initiated fire attack and a search for possible victims. Firefighters utilized a Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC) as they conducted their search. You can imagine their thought process when through the smoky room, firefighters saw what appeared to be a baby in a chair. They quickly moved closer to conduct a rescue. Thankfully, no rescue was necessary. It was just a doll. The firefighters moved on and completed their search. As it turned out, nobody was inside. We thought you may find this recreation of the event interesting. Firefighters have a difficult job at best. It's nice when we can share something a bit more light-hearted with you about what we do. This one, while only briefly, really got some hearts racing!
