Jessica Clark-Bojin on leipuri, joka tekee taidetta piirakoilla. Hänen piirakkansa eroavat perinteisestä marja- tai omenapiiraasta melkoisesti. Ne ovat kuin pieniä taideteoksia, joiden kuvia Clark-Bojin esittelee muun muassa Instagramissa.

Julkkisten ja tunnettujen hahmojen kuvia piirakoihin taiteileva nainen on kerännyt suuren fanijoukon sosiaalisessa mediassa. Hän loi piirakkaprofiilinsa Instagramiin kolme vuotta sitten, ja sen jälkeen kuvia on kommentoitu ja jaettu miljoonia kertoja.

Say hello to #TilePies! A fool-proof way of creating neat pie designs – you don’t have to worry about filling exploding through the cracks or the pie bottom getting soggy while you faff on with your details because these dough tiles are baked separately on a cookie sheet and added post bake! ⠀⠀ My mum @violetteclark was born in Casablanca Morocco 🇲🇦 and was always into cool tile patterns like this (albeit in brighter colors!) So this pie is a bit of an homage to her background, with a touch of my own graphic/mod style thrown in. I hope you like it! It’s a slight departure from my usual representational pies, but it’s fun to branch out and experiment with new techniques from time to time 😊 ⠀⠀ If you aren’t into hand painting tile designs, you could easily use stencils with different colors of edible powders (see my stories for how to do tidy pie stenciling) or use luster dusts and a little sponge brush. Or go really wild with splatter painting half the tiles and gold leafing the other half 😆 To make a tile pie, just roll out some dough on a parchment sheet, cut a circle the size of your pan, use a ruler to quickly cut out your squares, then freeze the whole thing. Once frozen, you can safely pick up the pieces and spread them out for decorating – and it works with any type of pie dough, even gluten free! ⠀⠀ If square tiles aren’t your bag, you can use an assortment of different geometric cutters and create tessellations with hexagons, triangles, or if you’re feeling fancy even little MC Escher animals… Tag me if you try it – I’d love to see your interpretation! ⠀⠀ Are there other traditional/cultural motifs or patterns that you think would make a lovely pie? Happy Easter and Passover and Sunday everybody!! 💐💕 I’m so excited to share this, my first ever collab with my friend and constant inspiration @luxeandthelady (who’s real name is also Jessica!) We’ve been looking for a collab to do together for a while and with the Springy holidays coming up (and the #pieartanimalscollab happening now until May 12th) she suggested we tackle Disney’s Bambi.
